The National Archives has in its custody records across multiple record groups and collections related to unidentified flying object (UFO) and UAP investigations, sightings, and reporting.

The surviving records consist mainly of documents relating to official policy, Parliamentary business (including responses to Parliamentary Questions), correspondence between the public and the Ministry of Defence, and UFO sighting reports.

UAPDA 2023

The UAP Disclosure Act of 2023 (UAPDA) is a legislative initiative aimed at increasing transparency regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), often referred to as UFOs. Introduced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Mike Rounds, the act mandates the declassification and centralization of U.S. government records related to UAPs. This is intended to ensure that the public gains a better understanding of the government's knowledge of these phenomena.
